  1. A Chevy "woody".

It has to have been sitting for at least 40 years for an oak to grow that big.

  2. I think this is a case where it might be easier to take the car apart and away from the tree instead of cutting down the tree.

In the next to last pic, it looks like the tree is acting as a doorman.

  11. Yes, that would be the way to move it. The body looks paper thin. Probably remove the front clip by hand. So whack the frame forward of the firewall, then the gasserfication can begin. The body's already lightened.

Man, I would have loved to have one of those 57 F100 grills and headlight rings in decent shape.

No, it was on the Tiller/Canyonville road just out of Shady Cove. All those rides are now crushed..:(

  16. That's a shame....my brother and Jaimie Ford sent me photos of Sherms place. I'd love to go up there some day to brouse old cars/parts.

  17. Wonderful pics, Hillbilly, thanks!

the tree in that shot seems to hold the passenger door open and hums " have a nice ride, sir"

The stainless fender moldings on this Chevy Fleetline are pretty valuable, as is that banjo steering wheel. Even one as rough as that would be desirable as a core to a lowrider/restorer, could sawzall the end of the column off if necessary to get it. Would probably be worth tipping the car back over to get whatever is left of the stainless trim on the other side.

This 57 Ford retractable is sitting not far from where I live. It's pretty rough though. Lots of pop riveted patches and bondo in it.

Guess I never looked close enough inside a 57 ford,(or others?) but I never noticed or saw door lock nobs on the front of the doors.....learned something new I guess, thanks for sharing.

  22. WOW- if you could find a donor '57 and swap in the retractable parts that would be a great build!!!

It'd be a good donor car for someone.. I'm told the owner would sell it.

  25. No the 59 Windsor came with either a 361 or 383 that year. That could clean up nice but I'd bet the frame and floors are shot.

We would love to find a straight rust free 105e Anglia like that in the UK. I cut my teeth on those(hence my handle) but thousands were scrapped here mechanically excellent but very rotten. There are still some very rough Anglias over here actually. What are your plans for it. You have something special there.
