https://thehotrodshowdown.com Anybody heard about this show, I pre registered. just wondered if any one else has.
Yes, very seriously, 'The Showdown' is an eastcoast thing that we are extremely proud of and support. There's only one 'Showdown' and it ain't in Texas!
^^^^^^^Some people view copying as a compliment. That aside, there are only so many terms to use, such as ; show, run, blowout, derby, hayride, hillclimb, etc. For the sake of a great hobby, it would be a shame to let that be an issue. Couldn’t help thinking that the term ‘showdown’ may have originated closer to Texas about 150 years ago, but maybe I have watched too many movies as a kid. .
It being Texas, how about Hot Rod Hoedown. Naaah..... I think Tennessee would claim that one. Hot Rod Throwdown?.............NYC, Hot Rod Slowdown?...........LA, Hot Rod Meltdown?........Chernobyl, Hot Rod Getdown?...........Detroit, Hot Rod Sitdown?......Florida. Damn it's going to be tough. It looks like a great location for a show, wish I was closer.
No offense intended. The idea was to have vehicles slow down for public viewing. Hope I didn't cross some PC line.
Naaaah but if you did I guess I buried it. Slowdown made me think of LA with the traffic. The more I think about it my area is probably just as bad or worse. Hope ya didn't mind the "sitdown," Florida being a retirement mecca and all.
Both of my daughters got married at the 7-A.It had to be completely rebuilt after the Blanco river flood. The pioneer town and buildings up higher survived. It is a unique place, enjoy. Also Wimberly is a cool little town.
I sent in a pre-registration submission, 3 days later haven't heard back... we shall see, maybe they only want v8 cars.... 3 guys with sbc powered Model As got in, few flatty guys already from what I heard.
Reminds me of "The Revolution" car show, 100 cars, pre 1948, Austin area, that Ryan put on several years ago.
