That's a gorgeous car. Can you offer the details on what it is please?
My 68 dart gt vert is so ready to go together. I don't have the coin to finish it right now but I could probable swing getting it into paint. I disassembled it completely and had it media blasted over 10 ago and. Back then I purchased an entire interior from legendary, new top, rechromed bumpers, all the front end rebuild parts and i had the auto transmission and 8-3/4 rear rebuilt too. Everything has been in a storage building or at my home shop since then. It's nearly rust free and I purchased all the required metal to replace the parts that do have rust. The motor is a decision that's still not nailed down but I do have 2 340 blocks that I bought when I was sure that I'd go with that motor. As it is I easily have enough to get into roller state. The one item I should have purchased was a huge bucket of motivation. Any advice on where I can stock up on some motivation PLEASE!??
It will make for a nice cruising car and they made very few gt convertibles. I doubt the rarity will matter because I'll be deviating from stock for some modern cruising amenities so who knows. I need to start on it before I even think about that.
I restored a challenger T/A about 15 years ago. I bought it as a rust free car only to learn it was actually mostly rust. I spent 6 months working in a bay my friend that has a body shop let me use and made the car into a concourse restored Mopar nationals 4th place car. I then quickly got VERY tired of car shows and wiping on the paint as folks talked about how they had such and such a car and wish they didn't sell it OR how they thought I didn't restore part xyz properly. I'm am thinking this T/A restoration burned me out but that's a damn weak excuse.
Sorry for a psycho long reply. I need an intervention

This winter plan on rebuilding the 55 Chevy I have had since 1992. It was always a bit rugged but now it really rough from sitting and awaiting its turn. Floors, cowl sides, roof patches, rocker panels just for starters.

  14. Just finished my first winter project ,re-doing the driveshaft in the coupe. Oh it's not Winter yet! Will start some gas tank work on the roadster next. Maybe I will get them both done before Winter, then I can sleep.:p

  15. Working on my new to me 56 this winter. I have Posie springs for all four corners, early 9” to go under it, dropped axle, lots of old chrome, do the interior and a whole lot of cleaning. I may also slip a V8 into it if time and money allows. It’s currently a 6 cyl.

  19. I too will miss them, they were a very good documentation of your work. I will be re-wiring my 1951 Tudor and then finishing the body work so I can paint it next Spring.

Guys, I miss showing you all how we do it but it's really tough to tiptoe thru a build without offending the site.
I answered a lot of PM's wanting info.
We're gonna keep cranking them out our way and I'll post finished pics.
We've done three trucks this year and the fourth one is going back together now.
    Here's a peek. 20181008_100130.jpg

I've been watching the Fury project from Cold War Motors and it has motivated me. I'll be transplanting the outer shell of this Sedan Delivery onto a 52 4 door floor pan, and putting 2 door doors on it as well. The 2 door doors are about 7" longer. Should make getting in and out a bit easier. A pic of the Sedan Delivery and both parts cars included as well. Hopefully by spring I'll have a complete car and a bunch of scrap metal. 20181104_100224.jpg 20181104_152408.jpg 20181021_123931.jpg 20181105_215802.jpg

  24. Fix some odds and ends of Taboo and the 55. My grandfather picked up a decent 71 Chevy pickup he is shortening and putting together to flip. I bought a 68 C10 long bed that I am going to shorten and redo into a semi-daily driver to share time with my new car.

I gotta ask, where’d you get the tail lights on that OT next to the truck? I like the look and have been thinking about replacing the ones on mine

Since I am not as fast or skilled as many folks on here I am still working on last winters project. I got the floor replaced on the Studebaker as well as LOTS of other rust related problems. I was able to get the body/doors/front fenders sandblasted, primed/basecoat on (in a 25 MPH wind) just a few weeks ago. Now I can install the headliner I haven't purchased and then the glass. I am trial fitting the engine and have plenty to do this winter. I am very fortunate to have a decent heated shop so I have no excuses to not "get er done". Occasionally my grandson helps too. He actually helped put the body back on the frame and in the picture he is affixing the floor heater housing. At least one of my grandkids has some interest:) IMG_1903.JPG IMG_1902.JPG

  29. No room for a full on build yet. so... here is the short list of winter piddling.
    1. figure out the MC push rod travel on my coupe (correcting some poor engineering by the PO)
    2. prep and get the Model A hood painted to match the coupe
    3. purchase and figure out how to install cowl lights on the A (figure out where to drill the holes)
    4. continue to teach myself how to restore stainless trim and then make my cowl band pretty and install.
    5. prep and paint some 35 wire wheels (maybe powder coat...)
    6. sound deadening/heat shield the interior of the coupe.. and then figure out how far i want to go on the interior
    7. work on getting the passenger door to close tighter.
    8. investigate how to correct the passenger side droopy front fender and then decide how bad it really bothers me....
