  2. Sorry to be a party pooper- don't do Halloween down-under. I don't know what it is.

Anyway, have fun (it is fun, right?)..

Sketched Jesse & Max's Square four Ariel in ink last week at 'Burst of Freshness' Show. Rockin' with the Lincolns there..

This is a mild customization of @chryslerfan55's
Beautiful Blue 56 Hotrod Pickup...This all started with that 'Whaduhya Think of Flames' thread...

He posted his 56 in the thread and I said he should get one of the Photoshop Gods to Giver a splash of the Hotstuff...He said to me, since I brought up the subject how about YOU...Giver...Well I'm no Photoshop God...:D...but I did give it a whirl...No Bats...Franky the creepy behind the wheel likes it...

Hope you like it...I think the Flame color is kinda sorta 60s and the Modded Desoto bumper tucked in closer to the Front Pan, Wide White Piecrust Firestone Bias, Steelies and Caps with a slight tint to all the Glass looks pretty cool.

Happy Halloween All and Have an Artfully Spooky, Hotrod/Custom Weekend...;)

@chryslerfan55's 56 post in the Flames thread link...

    Hello,

We all like fast cars of all kinds at the dragstrips. We were fortunate to be right in the middle of some changes to fast drag racing cars at Lions Dragstrip near our Long Beach home. Lions Dragstrip was also a few miles away from the Smiling Jack, the World's Largest Jack-o-Lantern. So, the sea breeze surrounds the whole area, creating some fast times at this "spooky" So Cal location. Sometimes with the fog so thick you couldn't see the race cars at the starting line.

Bill Colburn’s primer black Competition Coupe was one of our favorites as it usually won in its class, then challenged the FEDs for the top eliminator prize. The rumbling sound from this powerful race car was something to remember. 1958-59 were some years to remember the changes brought on to this race car.

At Lions, the Colburn/Glaze Coupe had a strong run, but something happened at the end…

Riverside Raceway December 1959, Version three

The newest Colburn/Glaze version was late 1959 and they were running well all day…But, nothing was going to stop the Cyr and Hopper FED on this race. Power, dirt, smoking tires all made for an exciting race.

The 1959 “Colburn Wax and Glaze Competition Coupe” was the official listing during the races. It was easier just to type Colburn Glaze instead of the long original correct version of the entry. Actually, an abbreviation would have been Colburn/Glaze.

Is any hot rod or race car ever finished in the exciting build and race results?

  13. (RUST IN PEACE) This is the scariest thing I have. It's from one of my old photo albums. Another one that I wish I could take the time machine, and go back and get. Would've made a great little sister to our 56 Nomad.;) 20181026_085733.jpeg

Not Halloween themed, but a work in progress. Going for a mid century advertising vibe. Warren_Oates_working2.jpg

Where did you meet your friend?......and I understand letting him drive because you don't want to make him mad...:D

Glad that this perhaps might make you rethink taking your Hotrod a little further down the Custom path...;)

This all retaining its functional aspects as well...and yes it will stand out in a crowd...but it already does anyways.

Hamber @Chris has done quite nicely a few 53 to 60 Ford Pickups with different tire wheel combos and stances if you are curious as to what it looks like done certain ways.

  28. I met my friend in at a show in Yakima Washington back in ‘83 . Little did I know that many years later he’d be doing the pinstripes on my truck. What’s on it now is just the second job he’s done for me.
