It's that time of the year again. October 19, 20, 21, 2018, Early Tin Dusters Fall Color Run in Quincy, Il. This will be my 29th year of attending (and driving the 37). Usually have 7-800 pre 49 cars and the event is free (donation bucket available). All proceed go the Camp Calahan in the Quincy area. IMHO, one of the better events in the midwest.
I leave on Wednesday October 17. We have a group of rodders driving from Louisville area. We will be in South Bend on Wednesday. Thursday we will be in Springfield, Friday to Quincy. Any pre-49 want to ride with us, send me a PM. We have a few rooms in Quincy for those who have never been to the event. Phil
Just got back. Another great show!! Quincy is an excellent setting for the event and the Tin Dusters and the city do a great job making it happen Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Jim, call now and work on getting a hotel room for next year. This event is too big to be described in a few photos. Next year Tin Duster Weekend October 18 - 20. Phil
Thanks Phil. I will ask my Alice to make some changes in her work schedule as a school bus driver next year. Val Fetsch and Bill Bowman have been telling to come down for years, next year maybe the year.
Ambulance?, that ain’t an ambulance it’s a land yacht. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Wasn’t aware of the meet and greet, I was parked across and down the street from you Saturday, between wandering checked near your car a few times to say hello. We’ll be back next year.
Actually, none of us were aware of a meet and greet. It just happened. Hnstray stopped by and while we were talking, Pprather walked up and joined us. Sorry I didn't get to see you. See you next year.
i.rant happened to stop at a local popular restaurant on Broadway where some local Color Run attendees, including me, had stopped for an early dinner. Dave asked "who owns the '38 Buick outside?".....my first thought was."omigawd...has somebody bumped into it?".......Turning around to see who was asking....and saying "I do" (words I have been avoiding for several years now)...Dave introduced himself and we had a nice chat........ So there were at least two impromptu HAMB Meet N Greet events and I think a good time was had by all...
We usually eat at this restaurant in Quincy, right on the Mississippi River. It's now in the Mississippi River. Note guy on gator with plow. Do you think he's trying to push the water back into the river?
It's a very fluid situation! usually, when the river is running this high, they have a ramp from the dry area up to the second floor where the restaurant is located.....not this year
Oops! missed that... Don't call me as an 'eye witness'....I'm slipping faster than I realized..... Glad they are 'open for bidness" !
