Technical Pontiac 239 firing order?

I have a 48 Pontiac coupe with the 239 flathead six. I CAN NOT find any diagrams for plug wires on the distributor cap.

Can someone help me out

 

153624 is the firing order for every inline 6 i have ever seen. So #1 plug out. Thumb over the hole. Bring it up on compression. Look at rotor. Thats #1. Note direction of rotation. Carry on.

 

No compression at cylinder 1

Looks like ill be taking the head off....

 

Probably a stuck valve.. 153624 is correct as mentioned above

 

Yup. Fifteen is too young, thirty-six is too old and twenty-four is just right.

I haven't heard that one for a very long time. Thanks for reminding me. Even 36 would be fine for me now.

 

LOL. At my age ,I thought I had heard them all. New one for me.

 

There was a dirty little ditty to learn the electronics resistor color code, too.
