you can use a low pressure electric pump or a holley fuel pressure regulator, they do one that's only 1-4lbs.
I have these 'poppets' that tuck away and open at whatever pressure you want and send fuel back to the pump inlet so the fuel stays circulating.

I used the same Holley unit that Billy uses. I mounted it under the floor (didn't like the look of it) and never had any problems.
I started with one of the round Filt-O-Regs but removed it and now use a low-pressure Holley and a gauge screwed right into it.
I sell them, they are made for me by Enderle Injection. They are normally used in mechanical fuel injection systems with much higher springs, Jim fixes them up for me with about a 2lb spring and then increase the line pressure with internal shims, I'll set them up for whatever pressure you want and give you a couple 1/2lb shims if you want to step it up. They can go anywhere in the system after the fuel pump.
Not to hijack this thread. Why change out the filt-o-reg? I have had good luck with mine. Now the fuel pressure gauge is another story, both the liquid filled and non liquid filled go to zero once the engine compartment heats up and I'm hoodless.
I heard many rumors about those round regulators leaking, so I switched mine. I can't confirm or deny that they really do leak. My horn is a Klaxon. I have no idea what it originally came on. Itsa 6 volt that has 12 volts flowing through it, so it's really loud.
