I finished this one on Friday. Grafted a Ford phaeton body back half to the front half of an MPC '32 Chevy roadster. Added all the Chevy body moldings. Chrome wheels with '51 Chevy caps. Ain't perfect but it's different. I have since fixed the up-top so that it fits the body properly.
WOW 8:25AM and know replys.....WOW OK I'll reply then. GREAT job Mr Lyle. That looks good man. Thanks for starting the thread. I forgot to....lol
Almost done, needs coil and air cleaner. Pretty much out of the box with wiring, fuel lines added and homemade headers.
Nice work so far.....Just finished a little T-roadster I had built a "not exact" copy of a friends car....Keep up the good work folks!
I call this a "Parts-Box-Model"...if you've been building for a while, you can probably pick out which kits the individual parts came from.
For what it's worth, Richmond Va. I P M S is hosting the Old Dominion Open at the Richmond International Raceway , Feb 23rd ............... scrubba
This is a Testors Diecast that was a winter project because it comes already painted. I repainted the interior and engine block last summer. The headers had the heat staining on them and it also came with spark plug wires. I did not like the carbs that came with them so I modified the blower to eliminate them.
Cool Touring, Lyle! Those MPC kits are a pig to get something nice out of! You've really done it justice! Where did you find the correct shaped rear window? It looks a bit big, but it's the right shape for Chevrolet's open cars in the early 1930's. Currently on my bench is the same '32 MPC Cabriolet, that I've converted to a 1931 Landau Phaeton, using a '32 Ford Vicky for the rear half...
here is one i finished this week .tried some thing different with some nail polish .not sure if I like it or not.
I modified the AMT up-top quite a bit, made the window and side areas from sheet plastic. I REALLY like yours. I want to see that one finished.
Here is one that I have been working on for along time, getting real close to being done with it, should have it finished up in the next day or two, it is the revel chopped merc, I sectioned it added 57 chev front wheel wells, and rounded all corners, it is painted a custom PPG mix with a light mix of pearl in the first coat of clear. What a great conversion! This would look good as a real car and would sure turn some heads. Great job. Where did you get that lady figure?
