Rembrandt did many pencil sketches and not the painting because he could see the finished product in his mind and did not have the patience to do the painting with so many he wanted to do.

When I moved to Colorado I had to sell the "Sexy Sadie" Shoebox project to my former employer (shown proudly with the car) to get my feet under me and get the '40 here. I didn't have the money or shop space to keep it at the time, though now I do. After 4 years I'm fine with it where it is. I've gotten paid to go back and work on it after I sold it, so I can't complain. My thinking was "If I ever sell this car I have to promise myself to get a '49 Mercury", which I did.

The car is now for sale again.

  5. I...actually just did last week. Sold my '50 that was beyond my abilities, and got a '51 in much better shape.

1954 Plymouth savoy. traded my beloved '66 Rambler for it, because it was already "driving". had stock front brakes, and a 79 Valarie rear end and brakes, with the master cyl. lines hooked up backward, with no prop. valve. Slant six automatic, with 2nd gear missing... rev it up, and manually shift it. The "builder" mounted the shock absorbers straight up, and down, so they were useless, it rolled like a river. Hand made wiring harness, with NO fuses! I drove it for a week, and decided to give it away before it killed me.
