Stop at the 165 exit on I20 west, go left to the 165 truck plaza. Get a good meal in ya before you burn up the highway!

Keep the tank full in case the trans goes out in the tow rig. It's been known to happen.

Good job Jim, had to be worth the effort.
If you're like me, the vacation lasts about a day, then I start thinking about all the things I want to do and the fact that I may only have 30 or 40 years to get most of them done (63 now) and all of a sudden sitting around in the shade is no fun. I gotta get busy.

Surprising how natural the long fenders look on your car. The factory should have made them much longer proportionately, like the Mustangs of the day.

The top pic looks like a ghost town. We were some of the first to arrive and the last to leave. All work in between. Heads down getting it done.

I agree. For an AWB it doesn't look all that altered, perhaps even nicer than stock. Which says a lot considering others out there.

I looked at the odometer today and the pic I took of it when I got the car going. I put 1056 miles on it already.

I've been following this thread since day one Jim , it's been the best one on the HAMB this whole time. Very impressive car , can't wait to see what it runs when you get it dialed in . 10.50's at 111 mph shows tremendous potential !

Congrats of the highest order. I don't know squat about dragracing but have enjoyed this thread more than an other on the HAMB lately. Ralphie

It's all been said, but one of the first few trips out of the garage is an 1100 mile drag race adventure! More trips down the strip in the first week than most builds see in a year. And the only mechanical issues are top end timing and fuel. The big inch hemi is thirsty! A lot of attention to details went into the build. So we all know Jim will get back home and relax some. While relaxing, the brain is detailing the next steps: gain some aero with the hood, find an old Vertex and install a 12 degree advance plate; super size some carbs, or even the mechanical injection he hinted at. The next time you see this car at the strip I guarantee Jim will need to pop the chute on the top end, Stay tuned.
