Great bunch of pictures! The girl leaning over the 59 Plymouth looks like my old girl friend, I dropped her cause she drove a Mopar

 

She kind of looks like Denise Diplock.

 

Bureau of Insect Control spraying 1950. City of Portland photo. Likely they were spraying DDT.

 

Note the sign, don't run over them but it's ok to spray deadly chemicals on them!

 

I remember myself and all of the other kids in our neighborhood riding our bikes in the fog behind the mosquito spraying trucks every time they came out. It used to leave an real oily film on your bicycle. As far as I know no one seems to have had any long term problems from being sprayed!

 

5500 pages, has to be the biggest post on HAMB. Thanks to Dog427/435 for starting and all those that contributed. It has been most enjoyable.

A more likely story is that she dropped you because you didn't drive a Mopar!

 

Dang it, I thought the picture was cool, I'm 63 and remember those days when I was young. Kinda makes me feel good, if that pictures not vintage than perhaps I'm not as vintage as I thought I was.

I am guessing it was the absence of a car in the photo rather than the vintage that was the problem. The Stingray bikes came out in '64 so that should not have been an issue.
