This beautiful 1954 Ford Pickup has quite a long history as a custom.





Here it is on the cover of R&C , in both 1959 and 1960!
(Gone now are the chrome running boards, and bed-side pipes.)

I believe Watson himself would have been proud to call this one his own!
(AND, he striped a lot of his work in black.)
Notice how the black top is echoed by the side trim...And that the car is not even de-badged!





Speaking of black tops...(not the two-lane kind ).
Great choice of tires, for this choice ride!

EDIT: I have no idea what the hole through the fin is for, but note that it's passenger-side only! (Car is RHD.)

Although 58 Chevrolet y fits the decade, this a mild custom pickup; Apache fleetside. Hope it is accepted as useable every day "car".
Unibody with numerous subtle modifications to cab/bed, hood, grill, roof, tailgate and bumpers to start.
Over 10 yrs in the making...from stock blue and white farm truck to hearty streetrod 350/ muncie 4 spd lowered with volare front suspension.

Geez, Would you get a load of those louvers?!!! How easy was that? (NOT!)




Good wheel cover choice for this Klean Kustom.

The hood is punched also.

 

I don't know why they didn't bring the louvers all the way to the grille bar.
Looks half finished!

 

Especially since the trunk louvers go clear down to the trim.

 

I like those Plymouth wheel covers, too. Trouble is they're 14" only.

The Buick could really be something and the Chevy speaks for itself!

 

Okay, I just realized why they don't. If they faced the same direction as the louvers on the hood they would be open on the upper side. You'd be looking right down into them!
It works on the trunk because the open side of the louvers faces the ground.

Can't believe I didn't think of that til just now.....

 

I'm sure you've all seen this one, but you won't find one this mild that's any nicer.
