So I have thrown in the towel on reworking an old stock Model A frame to my liking. Going to build from scratch. Doing RPU,mild 327,turbo 350,3;42 S10 rear,3 in dropped axle. My question is will 2x3x1/8 wall tubing be ok or should I up to 3/16 wall? I know a lot of you have built frames and need your wisdom! Thanks in advance,Bill.

What he said▲. 2"x 4" tube is more suited for an A frame. 3/16" wall makes it nice for welding on stuff like engine, steering, shock, wishbone, and other misc mounts without having them tear out in the future. ...and doesn't increase the weight enough to make any difference.
Apart from the front and rear tapers in profile, an a frame is 4 x 2. Use that. And definitely make it 3/16".
