Trying to get the door gaps as nice as possible. This one is going to get nice paint. Some adjusting on the edges with Buddy Palumbo.

Buddy Palumbo came over tonight and helped out on the deck lid. We are trying to get it gapped nicely also so there's no paint rubbing down the road.

Andy Kohler whipped up a clever extension for my Halibrand steering box. The top that the steering wheel bolts to is a quick release hub made from parts from an early ford driveshaft. Bronze bushing machined to go inside a column drop that I'll make.

Working on getting my seats mounted next too.

    Winter thrash!

Found a cool old cast aluminum parachute release handle off of a 1950's Convair F-102 Delta Dagger airplane. Im going to use it as a choke cable and will rig up the end to attach to the front carb. . Cleaned and mocked it up. I love repurposing odd little stuff like this.

So do we...;)...it is interesting that its re-purposed function also involves air braking...

I had Brian @basskustom do me up a set of his 39-48 converted self energizing brakes for my 32 project. Just came back from chrome and assembled with stainless hardware. He put lots of work into these and they are beautiful. He's a busy guy these days so I appreciate him working me in. IMG_20180718_133808_260.jpeg Screenshot_20180718-132354_Instagram.jpeg

Working on chopping down all the wood that's going to go into the car. IMG_20180723_135242_203.jpeg 20180724_092749.jpeg IMG_20180724_112413_224.jpeg

    More wood fitting. Chopping....
But also has to be reshaped in most places. I think it's worse than fitting a Chinese patch panel. Lol. I have minimal carpentry skills and this has been a challenge. I'll also add that my garage is a complete shithouse from the wood shavings all over the place.

I'm cutting the meat out then drilling a quarter inch hole in each end and pinning it with a dowel and some wood glue. Seems to be working.

Also playing with a cowl steering blister that a guy on here casts. It's just sitting on my pitman arm and not positioned properly or screwed to the cowl. Threw my steering drag link on just to eyeball things. I think I'm going to reshape the top lip and then polish it. Had an old chrome Flathead oil canister laying around that cleaned up nice. Made an angled bracket so it would sit right on the firewall 20180727_170225.jpeg
