It’s a 4 spoke 15” wheel from Summit of all places. Don’t remember the brand off the top of my head. 1940s Lakes car with a 1950s repower was the look I was going for. 7D5BDC50-40D1-47B0-8857-6EE57D211F50.jpeg CA03F178-ECDA-4773-9489-CEF5D2D7F2E5.jpeg

I have one, a 4 spoke. Nice model, exact copy of the Bell. (no 3 spoke, sadly)
    Thanks. Looks good in there...

  4. Got my 3 spoke bell from Jim at Antique Auto in Rosemead, Ca. (Gene Scott's old place)

Your talent and the heart you're putting into this car speaks volumes about who you are. Thank you for sharing your progress and build with the rest of us bums.

Also, as an aside, how is little Wyatt getting along after his surgery? I know parents sometimes don't like details shared, but I gotta ask, he's in my prayers and thoughts (I actually think and sometimes I even close my eyes to pray).

Unfortunately he is still in the hospital. Doing better but still not home. Has to be tough on everyone as he has been there since mid May.

I can't imagine going through that with my child, but I do know that kids are resilient and can pull through stuff us adults would fall apart under.

The summit wheel is GT brand. Made I. California I believe. I have one and love it.

Love this build as well, very clean, neat and thought out

I got this Schroeder (Gary) wheel years back, but have heard Gary ? Retired.
Can't seem to find any on the internet, are they being mfg under a different name?

  12. Gary is retired. All the new 3 and 4 spoke Bell wheels come out of Gene Scott's molds. Gene had a lot of connections in the rubber molding industry. At one time he had all the rubber pieces for Model A's and '32's. Gene was a tight as bark on a tree, but didn't hesitate to spend money on tooling.

No simple flat plywood and foam seat here. Feels like a Cadillac only smaller 94B86D62-84C2-4822-AA2C-28BE7D5930BE.jpeg 576F518E-EE4D-48BF-8217-F4C8FC9763CD.jpeg C793CD09-6DA9-4C49-8028-F579A5AA7B0F.jpeg

Wrapped it like a lawn chair and screwed to the frame with self drilling screws and washers.

Drove it tonight for the first time. Video from my phone is too large to post. 50 mph on the gravel roads and ran straight, stopped straight, and didn’t blow up. Rides nicer than I expected for a 95” wheelbase. I may have to rethink the fuel pump location as it was making some noise. It was fine during cam break in but loud after running down the road.

  25. That is so cool nothing like the first ride congrats!
