It used to be when I had my 52 Chevy pick up. Drove it daily til the town dropped salt in the winter. Now it’s gone.
Current daily is an early squarebody Chevy c10.
Still 41 years old and I think pretty cool but not old enough to fit in here lol

No--too many nutty drivers and traffic. Folks not paying attention, running red lights. texting and talking on phones--crazy-got to pay attention at all times around here.

Hey willys36, as small as Bakersfield is I'm surprised we haven't ever squared off at a light. A stocker an a gasser wouldn't be much of a race but it would sure put on a good show!

My Chevy II wagon is my daily driver, but I guess the motor isn’t quite kosher.

I said a few hours ago I was headed out...get me some vittles on campus..... parallel parked it "kinda", left the f'n keys in it too... lol.. Came out with my Blaze Pizza and "Barbara" was looking at it all over...(her head just showing behind the roof of mine) we had a nice chat, she is a "1955 model" like my ex... :) . At first she just asked to take a phone pic of the car...but sternly told me NO when I told her to get in the pic too, and have me use her phone! Said she hates having her picture taken. But I talked her into it. She smiled just like a kid for whomever would be seeing it later. :)

I meet 1000 people per month... (quite a few just tonight)...I swear!

  16. Back in the 70's & early 80's I drove a Model A pickup daily and Brenda drove a 40 Ford sedan, that's all we had.

We considered finding a '65 or earlier Ford Econoline van to use for the flower shop but with employees making deliveries we decided against it, but if the right thing came along I think it would work for Brenda or me to drive a daily basis as a cool rolling billboard for the business. I'm happy being in both places at the same time. Is that OK?

Yes, the 49 F 1 gets a lot of dailey use, the 34 sees a fair share & got driven to work a lot before I retired. When the weather gets too cold I drive the 86 Mustang & when it gets deeper I drive the 86 Suburban.

Or the 62 F100 shortbed unibody

  25. lol Just wait for it. You will be singing another tune in the next few years when you got to spend $1,500 - $2,500 for an evaporator as '05 and up fords have problems with evaporators leaking.

in my daily 16 miles each way commute my 1992 GMC is usually the oldest vehicle I see. smart people leave their old cars at home in this shit traffic where I live. 25 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening 5 days a week, with 2 - 3 wrecks a week. anyone who drives old cars regular here is "hard core" ... hard core stupid.

I work out of my home garage, there is no "daily driver". I also live in the land of snow and salt, so for about 3-4 months, I drive an old, but not old enough 4x4 pickup.

Otherwise, the coupe looks HAMB friendly, but under the sheetmetal, its too modern (though everything under there is replacement 28 year old stuff). Gene
