Can anyone tell me for sure if the front left body mount of a 1956 Mercury Montclair 2 door spotted welded to the firewall would be the same on a 4 door? I'm deep into a project and after removing a lot of old undercoating found this rot. I found a 4 door donor and was thinking of replacing firewall with both mounts. Driver side door frame area has some rot between hinge mounts that I was thinking of sectioning this in at the same time. Just don't know if the front firewall/door area is compatible anyone done this in the past? Anyone knowledge of this would be great fully appreciated!
Is the 2 door a 2 door sedan (post) or a hardtop (no post)? The firewall mount is probably the same either way, but the door pillar area could possibly be different.
