We went to eat supper at Cooky's Cafe (since 1942) last night. It's a great place that raises their own meat and sells 20-30 kinds of pie and it's all cheap. And when we arrived, a monthly cruise night was happening on the two block Main Street of Golden City Missouri. Complete with DJ and music. Not far from Lamar Missouri where the great Kustom show is held each fall. It was a pleasant evening and homemade ice cream was for sale. Oh yeah...
I went. I took my 37 Chevy coupe. The guy parking the cars told me that only 50s cars were going to park on main street but I was welcome to go down a block turn and park on a parking lot. I didn't hang out.
It is nice to see more people posting "where they go, see, and who they meet"...it is a good way to show others what they might be missing out on, in our life.. .
Poverty, met Travis this last year, he took photos of my pops roadster for his 48-48 book. Small world we live in.
Yup- Dad had a local body shop (Gene Miller's) take off all the trim off other than the side spears (took the Bel Air aluminum panels out as well), put a wagon rear bumper on it, twin antennas (antennae?), and '57 Plymouth wheel disks. It was his first new car, with the 270hp 2x4bbl intake and Corvette gears in the 3 speed with overdrive and 4:56 gears.
