Gary you took Wild and made it even Wilder that is such an incredible racer. Beautiful compliment to a visionary racer...;)

We were discussing a homebuilt that I feel was inspired by the Miller racer...There is a couple of links at the link below to more on the iconic Miller racer.

A 59sec short video of that racer with a fellow you have in your Artwork Barney Oldfield...He didn't win but looked cool losing...and low and behold he hops out with a big cigar or is that a Stogy...:D

    Hello,

We have been going to Lions Dragstrip since late 1957. We raced a 58 Impala and in 1960, a 671 SBC 40 Willys coupe in B/Gas and finally, C/Gas. There were many early gas coupes that gave us inspiration from speed secrets, to techniques, to actual build parts, etc. One of the most inspirational was the Pittman-Edwards team 41 Willys Coupe. We saw the progression from the early version in 58 to the last 41 coupe around 1961-62.

    K.S. Pittman 58-59

We always thought our 40 Willys coupe should look and run like the Pittman-Edwards Team coupe. But, we had a 671 SBC and they had the 671 Olds motor for power. Of course, from the first time we saw them, they had the best of everything built into the red Willys Coupe. We had just put ours together to get it running well, first. Then, with what we earned, the other speed parts were on order.

Like all early gas coupe and sedan racers, experimentation was the key to make one’s coupe/sedan go faster. We liked the progression of the Pittman-Edwards Team’s red, Willys Coupe. If our own Willys C/Gas Coupe had been able to continue, it would have looked like the 1961 version of the Pittman-Edwards coupe, except in bright yellow with our own logos. Our progression was going fine...until...

By 1964, the Pittman-Edwards team had already moved to the 33 Willys coupe style A/GS class. We were already gone from the scene.

A new style traffic signal lens and some one-shot. This is a new style for me and will be a gift to a family friend that has had some rough times. Gary IMG_3143.JPG

  17. Gary, the small details on your rendering of the Golden Submarine redux is awesome, as usual. Bob, love the use of color! I could sit here and name every one who contributes and sing their praises, but I'll just say Great Show, Fellas! And thanks.

  22. Thought some of you may like this.I spotted it in a junkyard. If that old motor home could talk, I bet it'd have some cool stories to tell. :) 20180622_111332.jpeg 20180622_111058.jpeg 20180622_111441.jpeg

  23. It's worth saving. If possible, scan that original then it can be cleaned up and rendered new with higher contrast and sharper detail. If you can't do it yourself, I'll bet someone here would be glad to help.

  26. How about some futuristic Friday.
In the year 2525, if man is still alive, will Hot Rodders still push the limits of man, machine and law enforcement?
Zager and Evans (and VonZemo) say...yes !
