Well, I've got Friday off so I'll be there Friday (though I may not be bright and early as I've got a late night gig on Thursday). If I can I'm gonna try and get there on Thursday too. Damn work gettin' in the way again!

How about sharing information on open house events around the area?

So-Cal Speed Shop announced on their facebook page they are NOT having an open house this year. I know the talk at the show last year was that it would probably be the last one, it had just gotten too big and expensive to host.

Walden Speed Shop is having an open house on Friday, 4pm
    [IMG]
Jimmy Shine Workshop is having an open house on Saturday, as well as Cambra Speed Shop (and it looks like Reids Hot Rod Parts has moved in with Cambra).

    Any others? Please post.

  12. I go every year. Not this year. I'm staying home and working on my hotrod. I'll come over when it 's done. I'm tired and looking at an unfinished project. Soon though.

Just found out there is no Roadster Show on Father's Day this year, WTF! This is/was a Father's Day tradition in our family. Guess this is the effect of bringing in new management.

I’m pretty sure it’s closed on Sunday because of the poor turnout last year. If people would come, they would be open.
Can’t keep a show people don’t show up to.

If it’s dying, it’s the participants fault.

  22. Had been planning on it; retired last Friday. BUT, my son, who I was planning on visiting with, has been re-assigned to another location for time being, and won't be home. So, I'm hoping to do a California trip in the Fall, and we'll review trip to LA Roadster show for next year. :(

My son and I went last year on Sunday and we figured we would be lucky if there was any show this year. I guess 2 days is better than nothing at all...
People aren't going to come when many vendors don't show, there are fewer roadsters and other hot rods to see, and the swap meet area is desolate. A lot of this was reaction to the management change. But I think this was all beat to death here on the HAMB in the last year, so I'll shut up now and try to enjoy whats left of a historic car show.

I will be there both Friday and Saturday, in my usual spot on the backside of bldg 4 by the first side door. I just figured out this will be number 44 for me. I wonder if the club will take it away from Buck (hopefully) or watch as Buck comes up with even more stupid ideas next year. I hope sanity will prevail.

    Flat,
Think about what you just wrote. You saw first hand the low Sunday turnout that has also been seen by the show promotors for years. Participants like me that travel 1200 miles enjoy the open houses Thursday and Friday and the swapmeet and show Friday and Saturday. Myself and many others I know that travel long distance to the show will usually start our journey home early Sunday morning. Try attending all day Saturday and you will see a lot better show

The past few years had been 110 deg. Supposed to be 85 on Friday and 78 or so for Saturday.
