I really don't know what the story is on that...kind of a odd situation....the remains of two guy's that apparently were wearing nothing other than their Boot's in a 32 Ford Roadster that's got bullet holes in it and it's crashed and sitting in the bottom of a lake......mmmmm....kind of fffiisshhIdon'tknow....strange.....maybe a "joy ride" that didn't end well....

Well R&R .... I can't really say for sure on that..But due to some findings on a later dive...There is a wee bit of a chance that the two "Good ole Boys" possibly indulged in some back woods" Devil's Brew " ...the findings included what appears to be part of some kind of a moon shine still..a couple of busted open wooden cases of shine..a Thompson machine gun and a shot gun....just a regular ole Hillbilly Saturday night.... These are my own thoughts and opinions on the indecent..in no way am I putting down or degrading or any other discredit to members of the Hillbilly society ...just saying....but hey other than being dead... It appears that they were probably having one hell a good time....drunk ..nude.... automatic weapons...driving your 32 roadster to the bottom of the lake.... priceless.....they probably thought they were in a submarine..... This is what they look like all torn down......this one is a Danbury mint 1/25 ...it's a very nice car real good detail ..it's been torn down for some minor customizing and paint.... I also have a larger scale one it's a Japanese one the top seamed to be out of proportion to the rest of it so it's being made into a convertible the windshield frame was kind of odd shape so I chopped it a little bit.... I have a real 50 Chevy Bel-Air HT that I am building to be like one that my dad had ... Think I posted a picture on this thread before of it ....that's what I am doing with the Danbury one also.... I collect these things, Renwal made them in the 50s and 60s as best as I can determine. I've got over 60 in different scales, configurations and colors. This one is friction powered, and about 12" to 13" in length-

-They're not really die casts, but they're definitely car toys...

  14. The Rambler wagon is a 60's tin toy and came with the Shasta camping trailer. As Where I got it ??? I can't remember. I probably picked it up at either a swap meet or toy show. In the 80s or 90s. I'm not home today. So I'll find an old photo in my phone gallery for now. Ed, great photos and a Cool Coupe. THANKS everyone for your post. RON....

Can you show how the flash drive is mated to the Hot Wheels cars?

The components are embedded inside the car. Space is made using various Dremel cutters, tiny files, and Xacto blades to make room for the components, and then the rear of the car is notched out for the connector itself. While most cars have a similar approach, each body style is necessarily different due to axle placement, interior (back seats are often in the way), etc.

  18. Murphy, I believe that the Lesney is a model of a Type 158 Alfa Romeo Grand Prix car. I have three but they are all Dinky toys. Any chance of getting a photo of the bottom of the car?

I'll get one this weekend...I'll post it on here as soon as I can. I could be wrong about the manufacturer, old rusty memory and all-

  20. Thanks, no hurry. I'll try to find my book on these type models. Maybe Dinky bought out Lesney.

  21. There are lots of pretty models here, and it was fun looking through them all.
Maybe someone can help me with identifying the maker of this model.
I have a Cobra SC model that I bought in a model shop in the Tokyo Ginsa district, back in the mid to late 70s. The reason I mention the store, was because it was five stories of every type of model plane, train, car, bridge, that you can imagine. The model was spendy, and I can't remember what I paid, but I never regretted having something of this quality.
It is a beautiful reproduction, the steering wheel even turns the wheels, but there is no name on the bottom, and I didn't know enough in those days to save the box.
If anyone can help me identify the maker, I would really appreciate it.

-No photos, but you are correct - it is a Dinky Toy, an Alfa Romeo...but I could barely make that out. I'd take a pic and post it, but it's pretty corroded.

  23. Thanks, I understand. I did find that Lesney failed after about 20 years in the business. What remained was acquired by the company that owns Matchbook.
