Finally got my intake back from the powder coater. Happy with how it turned out.
Now to mount the carbs ( thanks Dick York they turned out great) and start back together with it. 20180509_072300.jpg 20180509_072701.jpg 20180324_170741.jpg

  5. Looks nice. Hope the carbs work...

  6. Is it just me, or are the carbs sitting on there backwards?

Love the “w” by the way

That's a beautiful piece of functional art GV.

  8. Looks like the carb is blocking the distributor mount...

    Sweet looking engine!

Carbs were just set on the manifold for a photo op. Points for paying attention.

What did they charge to powder coat that intake? I was quoted $150 locally and I don't know if that's the norm or not.

  12. FWIW East Coast Powder Coating quoted me $125 per wheel to blast and coat some 1935 wire wheels

Sorry, but I can't see how a distributor is going to fit. That rear carb has got to move forward over an inch or more.

Les Schwhab was powder coating wheels for like 30? each...I guess it brings in some tire business that way, but maybe stop in at one and see if they would tell you where they take them to or maybe work something out with them?

$120, I spent a lot of time grinding and polishing before taking it in to get the smooth finish.

It was kind of a faux chrome. I was glad it came out not quite as flashy as the example in the shop. Pretty happy with it.

They are sitting on the intake backwards. No, they won't stay that way;)

Hmmm looks familiar... yours a 348 or 409? Mines a 409. I had my intake sand blasted and hot tanked then I cleared it with VHT high heat clear then baked. Looks like an early aluminum intake now that it’s done. This pic is before the intake finish was done.
