After far too long I'm back in a driver! With 4 kids my avatar truck is still realistically a few years off and I've been rideless for a few years now. Been looking for something to toole around in with the kids and thid cropped up in my price range--more or less. Super solid CA car. 200/c4 bench seat. No frills and not a sprint (that one was out of my price range) but should be good for some family fun. Time to tune up and clean up some. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yep! Good enough to toss in a hipo 289 under the hood and call it a sleeper..... Just dreaming out loud again...
still a rare one there and me likey much....not hard to upgrade....look for a V/8 Maverick for a donor car....
I'm going to restrain myself for now. Note my handle. I'm trying to stay focused on my avatar truck. I do have a granada donor car though. It's a super solid car. Came to nc from sacramento. Belonged to an, i think, founding member of the carolinas chapter of the falon club who passed away about 6 months ago, his son is selling off the collection. I paid a little more than i wanted too based on how good the body was and I gambled a little since It didn't start but it turned over strong. I think it just needs a good ol fashioned tune up from sitting. Stay tuned. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Those in the know feel free to correct me... but I do believe the Sprint used the Futura body lines. Sprint Clone in the future maybe?
Dropped some new points and a cap last night and got her running. all the systems are working, lights, signals, wipers, cooling, brakes etc. Took her for a short drive around the parking lot--ear to ear smiles--it's been too long. New tires this afternoon or tomorrow and i'll be on the road. Immediate plans are a petronix kit and a radio and enjoy. she will likely replace my daily driver on most days. Yes it's the same body as a Sprint. And if the motor goes it will probably get a v-8 swap. But I'm focusing my limited time and money on the avatar project right now. I know it seems counter intuitive to buy a car while doing that, but I want my kids to be able to enjoy riding around in a car too, not just seeing the one dad's always working on. I can see a disc brake swap and air (because i'm fat and it get hot here in the summers) at some point. But this was bought to be a driving tinker toy. Great car you have there. Wish i still had my real deal '63 V8 Sprint . Bought it about 1984 from a pimp in Amsterdam , did a respray and drove it a few years. 100% complete original car . 1st owner bought it new in L.A. and took it to Monaco. Then it went here to The Netherlands. I sold it to buy a house.
New tires. Everything works but the horn and there's a rattle in the muffler. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Bwhaha. But for the rattle in the muffler at idle i wouldn't know it was running. It's a big change from my old Sprint. It had a 400 horse 302. Had a guy follow me across town to look at it once; he was befuddled by the way it sounded compared to his expectations. It was bone stock outside except for the GT rally wheels. Once upon a time, I had a little 63 Ranchero that I bought for my wife, but she would't drive it because the suspension was too stiff.; it had been lifted. 260 2 barrel with a 2 speed transamatic automission that was very responsive. Unfortunately, under the bed, it was rusted beyond belief, and it eventually became a parts car for the wife's 65 Rustang. It was a nice little car; white with a red interior, and much of the interior trim had been chromed, and it had BF Goodrich Trans Am Radials mounted to Appliance, pseudo-Cragar S/S wheels. My best friend from high school had a 64 Falcon Sprint, 289/4-speed; it had been a drag car and had a fork lift battery in the trunk. Lots of Cobra parts on the engine, and a Cobra scattershield. Another friend had a 62 2 door sedan with a built 300 six/4-speed, and 9 inch rear. Always like the little Falcons, and I'm primarily a Chevrolet guy. Very clean one you have there. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
If you keep the 6 and it has the loadmaster system you won't believe the difference if you change to the later distributor.
6 isn't going anywhere anytime soon unless it craps out. Loadmaster system? Clarify/explain please. And which late distributor. Other than the 92 f150 (not hot hot rodded daily driver) this 8s the first 6 i've ever messed with. The motor/trans are from a 71 mavrick, fwiw. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
