Hi This is Paul and we are heading to the Stray Kat 500. Picked up the car in San Francisco and has been going OK until today we were getting intermittent missing. Thought it was the crap 91 octane but now after parking in downtown Williams it wont start. Seems like maybe a fuel delivery problem. It runs a solid state lift pump from the tank to the surge tank and then a high pressure pump to the engine. Yes it is an LS1 but don't crucify me. To get under the car I need a floor jack with a long handle and we can do some checks on the electricals to the pumps. To make it worse neither of our cell phones are working. Sitting in Cruisers restaurant at the moment hoping for help. Looks like we are staying in Williams tonight!!!!
Can't do much from Iowa, but I did post a call for help on the NTBA board. Let's hope it helps. http://nationaltbucketalliance.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3662&p=23734#p23734 Roger
I checked the NSRA fellow pages ( it is for national Street Rod Association Members that are willing to help other Street Rodders) There is a guy in Kingman Arizona that is listed . H.J> Spradling his listed phone numbers are 928-692-1992 or 928-303-9796. You might give him a try. He should at least know what kind of help is available in the area. This was from the 2015 -2016 fellow pages. Good luck and I hope you delay is short and you fix simple. Sam
Lots of folks have issues with the NSRA but their Fellow Pages shouldn't be one of them. I don't leave home without them. Gary
Looks like he has another thread on the problem and maybe Mick at Stray Kat has him hooked up. Sure hope so. Looking forward to seeing his car this weekend.
Thanks to all the kind words and recommends. Back on the road with problem rectified(sort off) with hot wire to fuel pump. In Albuquerque tonight and get moving tomorrow. Probably in Dewey early Thursday.
