Good to see you're back in the saddle. I was at the Antique Nationals that day (very hot day) you hit the wall. Thanks for the tread. Dick Morago

Great Job, So Happy they are back in action.....didn't realize it was old news.... So should I delete my posts?
Just found this thread myself and man this coupe is the real deal hotrod. What fuel does he run? I love the wheelie video. Not sure what my reaction would be if that ever happened to me. I know for sure I'd be changing my shorts before the next pass. Sent from my A520L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I read this whole thread and I must say Dennis was relentless in getting this cool deuce back on the track. So glad he wasn't hurt in the crash. You have to admire a guy who runs a 15:1 SBC and nitrous. Very cool. That said, I noticed he used Pete & Jakes style ladder bars in the rear. With the HP this engine produces and the fact that he does hook it up well enough to run 10's, I suggest he look seriously at building better ladder bars. Larger tubing, better rod ends at the rear with double shear brackets and at least 5/8" grade 8 bolts up front. I don't think Pete & Jakes intended those "street rod" ladder bars for repeated drag racing use at his level. I had 'em on my '31 Tudor, so I do have some experience with them. Nice but not race parts. From a purely engineering standpoint they are probably "technically" sufficient, at least for the occasional blast but it one were to break on a hard launch, he will be rebuilding his coupe a second time. Just a thought.............

Resurrecting an old thread. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dennis last weekend. Go Fast dude with a hell of a car collection. Here he is tweaking the linkage and carb on my buddy's Caddy powered Olds. Going to bring my '41 Chevy by his place soon and meet some more friends of his.
