Can anyone bring me up to speed on this? I know just enough to be a danger to myself.

    I believe I have a 3 speed standard transmission from a 62 Ford Falcon 6 (144)
Was this transmission ever made with a shorter tailshaft? Is it the same trans that is in the same year van that "hangs" from the rear?
Is the Daggenham 4 speed a bolt up or does it require a different bellhousing?

Daggenham 4 speed does use a specific Bellhousing.

I am pretty sure it is a different bell housing. I’ll double check the Falcon 6 Handbook I have and let you know.
Do you know the casting number for the bellhousing you have?

Different bell housing , chances are you have a 2.77 3 speed. Like sparked said pick up the falcon 6 handbook. Lots of info there.

The Falcon Handbook doesn’t have a picture of the Dagenham 4speed. I highly recommend the handbook for information about compatibility of inline six parts and what works well.

(OT: One other option that they don’t note is the SROD trans used in early fox bodies. I found a 1981 trans and bellhousing that was a bolt on swap to a 1966 200ci block.)
