  4. Wow that is killer. It's sad that 1500.00 don't get you much anymore. But today it got you an investment

  5. And you even helped out the guy getting evicted. Probably can use the $1500.

Awesome deal! My dad had a 55 in late 70s, early 80s. he traded it for two 1964 Chevy pickups, a Napco 4x4 and a 2 wheel drive.

The doors are the same for all of those cabs. From what I heard when I had my 55 the doors were fit to the individual cabs at the factory

It's official, pretty much hate ya.

Nice score, lots of potential. I agree, build thread...or else!!

  12. The doors fit lousy from the factory! Mine had big gaps. Especially around the windshield and cowl area.

    Regardless, what a score!!

I just wanted to resurrect this old thread with photos of the completed build of this Cameo. From Trash to treasure. The current owner also told me today, that while going through the paperwork I obtained from the original owner, that the bill of sale from 1975 where the man I got it from had purchased it had a date on it. It was his wedding day. So, there is no doubt that this truck found it's perfect home the the results of this fine build just prove it beyond any doubt. 20230811_112807.jpg

  15. My Dad had a 1957 Cameo for his first truck. He built a camper for the back in the early 60's so our family could go camping. Here's a pic. Faucher 49.jpg

Did all 5 of you sleep in that camper? Cool regardless.

  17. Yes, my parents slept on the floor and my brother and I slept on the fold down table. My sister slept on the side.

  18. Wow, Nice build with a few tasteful mods!
