I sold this set of covers to a guy on here He sent them back, saying they were not original Said they were reproductions OK...does anyone know if they reproduced these at anytime ???? AND....if so, how can I tell if these are Orig's or Repops ???? And and All advice will be much appreciated THANKS IN ADVANCE CONFUSED IN MINNESOTA
Can't help if they are repo or not ,but I would be hard pressed to consider some thing that clean and shinny NOS.
I may be wrong but I believe Isky made aftermarket chrome rocker covers with the dimples for adjustable rockers for the J2 motor. Try a PM to Paul, he is an Olds motor guru. Russell
I have had some that deffinately felt thin. Put a nice layer of chrome on them, they'll feel and look much better.
These are fairly Heavy and the Chrome is just fine...Thanks for your input....and they aren't thin at all.....guess they just are what they are...
for what it's worth, I checked my dimpled covers, they and a few random stamped stock covers are all 18 gauge steel.
It's been a long time since a machinist guy told me this but I if remember correctly ISKY bought out the factory inventory when they covers were discontinued from GM so the ISKY covers were supposed to be GM. There is a machine shop here in IL that bought all the covers ISKY had left years back. Don't know if the machinist has any left, I haven't been there in years. Of course this is just from memory and we know what happens to memory as we get older
