I have picked up a 59 a short block that has a weber cam . The cam number is weber 1B or could be 11 B, it is double stamped. Anyone have any specs for this cam. The eng is ported and relieved ,3 3/8 x 4 for the size.
    Thanks for any help.

  2. Are you sure it is not just the factory marking? I've seen plenty of factory cams with the number 11 right on the snout area. I used to run Weber cams back in the day, they were marked with things like F-1, F-6, F-7, etc.. I'm not aware of a '11B' grind . . .

  3. B&S Do you know of any info on a weber 5-T.I have searched their site but come up empty. I bought a 59 ab & it came with it extra. P O had no info for me.

  4. I've never heard of a Weber 5-T? Can you send me a clear picture of the front of the cam so I can see how it is marked?

  5. the Weber F-1 specs are--advertised duration-264 deg. in&ex
    112 deg. lobe separation angle
net valve lift .300 in.-.299 ex.
valve lash hot .012" in -.113" ex.

    5-T is a Ford stamping I believe.

Bob, this is what is showing with the timing gear on. Will pull the gear for a better pic.

Hope you can make these out. There is a 5T that is cast in the forging. Don't look like it has ever been used. weber 5-T cam.jpg

As noted 5T is a Ford designation for 59A cams.

  15. Weber did make an 'R' grind - but I have no clue as to if this is it. It is a very mild grind (which wouldn't seem to be the one in this engine). It only lifter .290 and had pretty low duration.

BUT - I would think it strange for Weber to use two different stamp fonts on the same cam - so my guess is that the 'R' stuff is something else . . .

  16. Only problem - that is an early cam . . . way before the 59x series. I'll have to look at a few old early cores to see if they have the 5-T marking - can't remember.
