Hot Rods Sun Super Tach Info

Anyone know what application the Sun Super Tach sst-817 was intended to be be used with? Is it possibly for a magneto or some other type of ignition? I know the sst-801 is the standard 10,000 RPM V8 tach that was used. Thanks!

This is 2 years old now, did you ever get any answers? I believe it is just the std. point ign. tach. not a magnetto. I have a Mag. and it requires the Mag. sending unit.

It says "CD IGN" I know zero minus about
CD ignitions, other than it means "capacitive discharge".
