Recently decided I would like to change my 11" flywheel to a lightened one. I have one meant for a 9 1/2 disc, but I was wondering if I would be ok with running the 9 1/2" or better off with the 10"? If it helps my flathead is 296cu. in and making just over 200hp.

No matter what type flywheel go with the 10 in clutch. In 1972 I had a 296 flatty with a 10 in. clutch and aluminum fly wheel and it worked just fine. Right now I am using an 8BA with a steel flywheel and 10 inch clutch and it also works fine. I am using the stock throwout bearing. If you're racing use alum. flywheel. If not stay with steel.
Also easy to shift. If you're racing. Read up on the advantages of each flywheel here.
