My neighbor unstuck the valves on the B I now have by putting it in gear and having his son, grandson, and me push it back and forth up and down the driveway while he rode on the fender of the truck gently bumping the valves through the spark plug holes. We tested compression the same way while he held his thumb over a spark plug hole until it sprayed WD40 at us for each cylinder. Then he drove it.

Look forward to the build Ronnie. That was a cold “fun” morning ! Glad it went smooth without any major bumps.

You gotta smile when you look in the rear view mirror and there's a Model A following you. Great picture. Too Kool!

  8. That is a big problem for me as a Chevy 6 guy. You can't make the correct engine noises when sitting in your project!:(

Okay, I'll come along for the ride - subscribed! I am constantly amazed at the cars that are put back together and brought back from the dead here on the HAMB.

Unfortunately no time to work on my projects. Working every day 6:30am-7:30pm so no time. But that doesn't stop me from lining up parts and making deals.

I've done that holding a Frisbee steering wheel sitting on a milk crate... never missed a shift.

get the word out on what you need,
most stuff gets sold just before the swapmeet... word of mouth before the swapmeet works... some guys will take less to not have to load it...
Topsham, ME. swapmeet is may sixth...HIH.
oh yeh, looks like that Barbie in the background will get a few burgers soon... melt snow.

  24. Driving around the country in my service truck all I want to do is rescue all the cars... my fiancé would murder me if I dragged another one home! Great build and inspired me to find parts opposed to complete cars.

That looks as depressing as my '29 Essex when I brought it home. Still got a lot to do. Perley

I use door patch panels, I think they are $73.00 each, SNYD'S, but are 18" tall... just under the beltline, they have the correct "compound curve".... if you buy tudor / truck they are 29.25" long...
memory says 16" on the cowl, leaving about 13" from the door back, should cure you...
buy two cut them both in half...
I did... pic. of a tudor door patch cut in half, makes cowl and quarter patches on one side... being tall they eliminate a ton of pitted lower sheetmetal...
liked them so much I bought a pair of coupe "just under the beltlines " door patches... now all lower beads match... HIH.
