  7. A friend of mine and I went to a vacant lot and found a pretty nice Ford sign just like this one and we put it in the trunk of his car and hauled it to his house. His Dad came outside, saw it and promptly said, "Get rid of that crap" as he pointed to the sign. He was a Ford guy....he just thought it was trash.

    Hello,

We were visiting the newest branch of a local bank in San Clemente,CA. While driving through the parking lot, we saw plenty of parking spaces. My wife saw a couple of ordinary cars taking up a space and a half. Her comment was that So Cal drivers are so much in a hurry that correct parking is a bygone era.

Then out of the corner of my eye, something bright red caught my attention. Since we were going to visit the local bank and a giant hardware store, we could not miss this red car. A bright red 55 Mercury hardtop was sitting across several parking spaces in this lot. What? Another So Cal driver taking advantage of empty parking lot spaces? ACROSS??? Surely, a So Cal move…but, as we drove by, the red Mercury was from Florida. It was a "Sunshine State" car taking advantage of the bright, 70 degree, So Cal sunshine.

There was one of these new Corvettes in the parking lot. Maybe the manager of the bank? But, as an old hot rodder, that Mercury was better suited to my tastes. At least, the Corvette was parked correctly in some empty spaces in this new lot, away from other cars. Credit due…

I caught this out of the corner of my eye so I whipped around. A prospective buyer had taken it out
for a test drive and was generally checking it out. A '63, asking price, $7200.

An open garage door piqued my interest.

This was a puzzler. I shot it through a wrought iron fence that had no gate. It's facing
a backyard that has no access to the alley, there was a shed and a garage with no rear
doors. I guess it'll be there for a while.

    Hello,

In between the cloudy sporadic rain we have been seeing lately, there is actually sunshine lurking behind those dark, ominous clouds. We took advantage of the sneaky sunshine to go out for some shopping and ran into this very clean, cool looking 56 Chevy station wagon. It had the “stuff” for very cool daily driver. It would certainly fit in our garage...

Sorry, I could not stop and take more photos, my wife was anxious about the cars coming down this narrow road and wanted to continue shopping…we all know women and shopping…ha!

Who owns this 56 station wagon? Probably some guy/girl that works at the local, surf oriented warehouse for one of the big names in the So Cal surf scene. This area is packed with those name brands.

As far as the sunshine, it was short lived and now we are back to "Seattle" weather with overcast and drizzle clouds, just waiting for that blast from the "BIG" rainfall we are supposed to get this week.

  19. A 210, two door wagon. Nice!
Notice the paint dividers on the front fender spears, specific to the '56 210 two tone cars.
