Has anyone had problems on aftermarket dropped axles with the wedge bolt hole being small? Just replaced stock A axle with Speedway dropped axle and wedge bolt does not want to go in as far. Thanks Bill

  2. Maybe check the fit of the lock pins in your old axle; should give you idea whether the lock pins or the holes are off. The axle hole is supposed to be 9/16" straight thru.
Once you get it sorted out; be sure to pound them in as you tighten the steering stop nuts.

The 9/16” holes might be fine, it could be the lock pins or the notch in the king pin. It is the 3* wedge machined on the lock pin that holds the k/p tight, if the lock pin won’t go as far as you prefer you could try carefully removing some material either on the wedge or the notch. Easy does it, sneak up on it, you don’t want to go too far.

Same pins and bolts that were in the stock axle and fitment was fine. Going to check this weekend to see if holes on new axle are 9/16.
