One of my Dad's skyliners - this one is a '58. It's mostly stock, but has a 427 and the paint is a custom color. The car was originally a two-tone brown:

Thanks for the honorable mention. :) Here she is with the Desoto bumper treatment. After about 10+ years of driving it around, I have decided to paint this bad boy!! RancheroDesoto.JPG

The 1957, 1958 post needed some love.

The Desoto bumper looks great. It'll look great with some paint on it, it looks great now. Love me a '59. Color?

  9. When new that color was called Harvest Gold.

I'm still thinking about the color. I'm leaning towards black.....good-ol'fashion-jet-black.

I kinda like that light baby blue Ford used too.

Wow! Didn't take you long to get tired of it. What happened?

Those 57s look so nice with the flat Tail light lenses..... The 57 Ranchero is sacred to an el Camino lover like me...

  13. I've always wanted a 57 300 custom.
Can't say I've ever seen one for sale that I could afford or wasn't a total rust heap.
Ended up settling on a 55 Customline. 390 w/3spd on the floor.
It just wasn't what I wanted so I moved it on (kinda' miss it now).
Been driving o/t's (mid to late 60's Fairlanes , Falcons, Comets, Galaxies etc.) ever since.

This was our red & white 1957, which we had until 1969 in Southern California. Is was good enough to haul around our family of 6.

Although I don't really care for the wheels on this white 57 Ford in the "foreground", it's a beautiful car, and this primarily Chevrolet guy would love to have. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Forgot how to post pics properly. If I ever get over this flu, I'll go out to the garage and finish welding the roof on.

Did that start out as a two door sedan?

Actually, it started out as a four door sedan. I bought a really really rusty Ranchero, and the only donor 57 I could find that wasn't rusted to the ground was a 57 Fairlane 500 4 door sedan. I did a lot of measuring, then bought the 4 door and started cutting. There is a complete build thread on the 57 fords forever site.

  25. Pretty crappy picture of my old '57 Custom bracket racer but it's the only one I've got. 390, big cam, Holley 950 three-barrel, 4 speed and a glass nose. Black with a gray interior. The picture was taken just a few years ago as the kid in the foreground who was helping me pack firewood that day will turn 49 in a couple of months.

  30. Thanks for posting those, Jeff. And that would be our friend Jay's E code business coupe! An important single letter.
I can't figure out the background/reflections on that middle picture. almost looks under a bridge or in a stadium.
