In some parts that my dad and I acquired is this steering box. It looks like a Vega box to me but has four mounting bolts instead of three. I'd like to use it in a gasser project we are working on. Anyone know what it's out of? Will Vega box parts work in this? It feels a little gritty when turning it by hand.

I think it is Camaro/Nova and with the four bolt mounting the Saginaw designation might be 122. I would doubt any Vega components fit, but certainly you could disassemble it and see if the gritty feel is from a bearing(s) or the recirculating balls and/or worm.
Might be easier to just get a different box, and I would probably use a Saginaw 525 if it was on my car.

That one could be a close ratio box.... Maybe a 17 or 20:1...
    I could be wrong...

It looks like a S10/S15 box. Similar to the 525 but with 4 ears. Manual box was only available for a few years, possibly 84-86

I think that is what it is too.

I put an S10 frame clip on a Shoebox. That was the box, I think.
