I'm still looking for 7" pie crust slicks. I thought I had some coming but they were junk. I did obtain a right side steer Schroeder 9-1 CHAMP steering. I did restore the roadster quickchange.
I am building 2 other cars but did manage to totally diss- assemble an engine that was built for racing over 30 years ago. Clean it up and put it back together. [ I used this engine picture by misstake on another thread of mine] Today I decided to use an X-Shift transmission. It was already converted for Ford torque tube drive. The sprint car bell is too small to clear the Ford U-joint. I adapted a Ford bell to the sprint car outer torque tube. I shortened the Ford tube to make room for the inner sprint car torque tube to slide back and forth. Press fits. welding tomorrow. I will be using the Ford roller bearing and seal.
I am getting closer to starting this build. I am working on the frame blueprint. The rails only have one bend in them. Keep it simple. The upper rail passes over the torsion bar tubes so I can plug in the front nerf bar. The rear torsion bars and the upper frame rail line up with the bird cages that I have. The lower rails will be 3" off the track to eliminate the bent under loops.
