Distressed to read of your little angel passing. Lived thru that same thing with a Newborn daughter in 1961, very young, first marriage.
Happy to read of your prowess with Tucker! My first son was born in '63, we are serious rod builders...together.
Love this thread, Phaeton is 'correct' in everything you've done. Tucker is at the head of the class!

I always look at fine details, that rear panel upper angle is just perfect. Once the wood covers it it is out of sight for ever, but you know how many hours are into it. Nicely done. :)Bob

I see you are making good headway with your tub. It's looking really good. Frank

Very nice work on the rear wood piece platform. Did you locate the rear wood piece?

I think I'm gonna make my own Lynn. I don't know how close I am to the stock shape now.

I haven't gotten much done on the tub...just trying to fine tune things before I blow it apart to work on the frame. Normally I like a good rake, but for some reason I wanted to go less stink bug. I dug out my original spring and threw it in and now I'm really happy with the stance.
Tuckers has been itching for a ride... I think he's trying to tell me something.

    Brandon;
First let me say I am very sorry for your loss. I am at a loss for words. I cannot imagine what you and your wife have gone through.
I don't know how I missed this thread. I really like where you are going with this. It has the look. When me, Bart, and Steve stopped by in June 2016, I loved the car then and I like it even more now. The work you are doing looks fantastic. Keep up the good work.

  18. I just went through this thread for the first time. First I am so sorry for the loss of your Daughter. Nothing could be as hard to go through. I am sure having a Son and this project helps. I love the look and work that you have done. This is a super nice looking 32. God Bless and keep us posted on this build.

We ended up using the tub for a prop for this years Christmas card. Ive never had it really far out of the garage, so it was nice to check it out from a distance. While we were getting set up, My friend watched Tucker and I snapped a few pics. I'm always looking at the passenger side so it was nice to see it from another angle.

That slick little top strip you made for the touring looks like it could convert a sedan panel to a touring in a pinch...
i'm thinking it could be a coupester save too... go kid go !

Plastic decking material... "five quarters" thick... some have sawdust molded into them and can be sanded..
get the solid planks... careful - some have channels gutted out from underneath...
they will bend in the sun with a little weight on each end... make a pattern of the top of the body... set your patterns where the arch of your plank best matches the arch of your body...cut with a sabre-saw...
sand to smooth... it is quite flexible... the bolts will easily pull the wood down...
worked ok on a '28 cabster...
