  4. Nice looking engine.

  5. I think those wheels are exactly what every flathead powered, stock bodied, stock interiored, 32 coupe should run. :)

I don't know, mick. They're a little busy for me. Reminds me of the bad guy's chariot wheels in Ben-Hur. I do like the general style,

  9. IMHO
    No disrespect to Chip but.....
    These wheels are far better.
The car is also a Knock-out!
I also personally like the color of this one better.

  10. A sectioned '51 Ford - I saw that car earlier this year. It isn't traditional by any stretch but it's finished well and looks like it was designed to haul the mail.

  11. I was hoping it was obvious that I was not being serious. Really I think they look terrible on that coupe.

  13. Would you believe me if I told you I saw that car at the shop where it was being built and I can tell you that it’s not only sectioned top to bottom but also wedge cut from front to back. Also the roof is narrowed front to back 3 inches.

To me those wheels send a mixed message, kinda like putting a Pines Winter Front on a hoodless highboy.

    Car is a 10+, wheels are a 0. IMHO.
Color is good on the 32 and the shoebox.

I don't like the look of positive offset wheels. I'm not sure if that is the right term, It looks like you were too lazy to narrow the rear end and put good looking wheels on the car. You see it a lot on cars stretched over late model vette frames. He could have done that a lot better.

No denying the craftsmanship on Foose's coupe, impeccable as expected. Stance, proportions, and overall concept is spot on. But, (there's always a but :D) to me this is a classic case where color & wheel choice can absolutely make or break the final product as a jaw dropper or a head scratcher. Credit though, he's never afraid to think outa the box. JMO

  20. Do you know the easiest part to change on a car - to actually change a whole car? The wheels. 10 mins of lug nuts and he'll have a home run.

If he chose wheels that belong on that car, then the Whole car wouldn't belong at SEMA.

  21. The thing about that '51 is, it really is, unique.
It seems like a very modern, "Custom Rod" West Coast "Canyon Carver"
If I live long enough, and I'm looking to progress to a new level
of traditional, I want that car! Awesome! BTW, those wheels are real
'50s Indy roadster wheels traditional... You Bet!

Saw the '51 Ford at the GNRS, flawless, the aluminum work with all the rivets in the trunk was really well done.

Those "Star Trek wheels" don't go that car.
Is the car painted green? Looks like it was dipped in clear coat.
What could have been a home run is a triple.

IMHO the wheels would stand alone better if the tire sidewalls were smoothed, a lot going on with all that lettering.
    Beautiful car.

All the lighting in that joint isn't doing that car any favors. I can see the idea he's chasing with those wheels. But, as others have pointed out, they just don't work with the whole 'stock' theme. Great car. Bet it's a killer in person. Chip is one talented dude.
That Shoe...no thanks. Looks like it's been stepped on. But, again, bet it's a killer in person.
