Put the hood up to check alignment and snap some pics. Then took it right back off. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks guys. Hated to take the hood off, it's tedious working around paint and headlights. Once the grill was secured I was able to snake in the radiator. Need to stretch out the wiring harness and start that fun process this is Space Alien Pete Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got the wiring done. Along with some odds and ends and went for a cruise today. Got it up to 55 without a windshield, that was about all I could handle Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Amazing job...You just kept it 'low key', like a series of small jobs. Great lessons here, I was impressed with the fit on '32 rails; (I 've done '27s and '29s on '28 Chevy rails) Noted you 'kicked' the rear of Deuce rails raising the tails to horizontal (I did this on my '27 roadster) Total package is well thought out, love the 'Anvil'! This is a good looking sedan. Lots of thought to the radiator and shell...
I'm a scavenger by nature. One mans junk is another mans treasure. So true with me. I found this perforated pre-filter screen from a cooling tower. Cut and fit and a portion found a new home. And for something a little goofy- the filter looked like teeth to me Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like it all. Great thread, and good inspiration. Thanks for posting it. I also like that you built a Chevy
Bought some goggles Put the hood on Got it up to 70mph today Surprisingly smooth ride Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Awesome lookin' Chevy! Sits just right and looks like it's doing 70 mph sitting still. You should be proud! Tom
Well 4 months later I got it back from the upholstery shop. Making templates for the glass now Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
My list is definitely getting smaller. Glass is all in. It all went in well but the windshield, got it on the third try. Ended up removing an extra leaf that was originally added to the rear spring pack. It’s so much better now and fun to drive. But I’m having hell with the starter getting to hot. I’ve wrapped the header and pipe Just added the wrap heat barrier around the starter, and still can’t start until it cools. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I looked through the pics but didn't see any pics of how close your headers are to the starter. I'm using a stock style starter and I don't have any issues with mine. I don't have anything wrapped.
I can slide my hand between the starter and pipe. From the info I found here it sounds like a mini starter may be the way to go? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
