Looking great, get it finished for next July and bring it to Santa Pod raceway for our Dragstalgia event, we had a few gassers over from Scandinavia this year.

I think next step is to mount the real engine in the rail
    20171019_104443.jpg
can't wait to fire it up !
    20171019_104501.jpg
Im waiting for the magneto and nozzles for the fuel.
see if I can mount the engine this weekend so I can sit and dream for a while. Do you have a eelco or CR gas pedal? Or maybe some other cool brand?

I had a old moon pedal for the right and just bought a new left one for the clutch they looked exactly the same so I just buried the new one in the garden for about a month (a trick an old car restorer once told me) and it then looked old enough to match I think the new one only cost about $60

I have looked at the moon pedals, they are nice with the right age modify :)
If I go for moon, I think I buy both left right , and let my left foot rest on the left pedal. (No clutch, just solid mounted)

Yeah I need to realice that the old banjo belongs to a flathead..
I go for 9 inch, then I dont need to worry about the rear end. And parts gears bearings is common stuff Screenshot_2017-10-26-11-41-42.png

Chrys 8 3/4 (742 or 489 case) is more in size to the early 49 olds, plentifull , in-expensive. exlint parts availabity, strong enough for about 1200 hp. For the 9" make sure you go with a "N" or aftermarket case or you will blow the pinion carrier out the front of it.
For using the banjo, good parts are getting harder to come by, but is was the QC units that were prone to grenading the gear section off the back end. By using a spool, there is nothing to blow up or escape the housing, you will just knock the teeth off the gear set leaving your "manhood" intact

The positioning of the 9" will change the line up much different then the banjo as the pinion is much lower on the 9" requiring a taller tire or re-mounting the engine

Yeah, its going to be low in the back, in worst case I need to re do the mounts like you said. I just love the old style banjo, but I think the niner is safecard and can be busted all day and night

    Thanks for your words guys

Found a nice cast old aluminium gaspedal on a auction site, cheap, well nothing to lose. Haha, when I got it, it was super small! IMG_20180831_172342.jpg
So Im trying to build One right and left foot pedal instead. Im going to drill holes to keep a good look and of course, save some weight to.
IMG_20180906_065054.jpg and Im doing some brackets to weld on.
The shape is going to be trimmed a bit
