I am with ‘moheadl’ you are all full of shite….; I did everything myself, kept the receipts for the main items and am way over $10 or even $15 grand. All of you should look around for a fire extinguisher because your pants are on fire.

Sorry guys, i'v been doin this for a long time and have bought parts when they were a good deal even if i didn't need them at that time, i would need them later. i bought engines from people changing engs., 2wks. ago i bought a good columbia OD for $500, don't need it but still have flthd engs. i payed $150 running. next build is a 34 rdst. i found in a barn while looking for a model A, it will be about $30 - $35, time has flown by....bought 7 sets NOS linc. zypher grs for $59.00 set from spd. shop in PA.

  13. Old thread, but why not answer Mo's question with my answer. You can do lower cost by buying parts at swap meets or other sales, getting good donor cars for drivetrain donor, etc. You don't buy new parts, instead buy good used parts that don't need a complete rebuild. Also goes without saying that your labor is free. It can be done if you watch costs and buy smart.
