    Nice! I googled around at GAZ trucks, saw an older one that cab looked like my 48 Studebaker M16.

    Summer 2012. Our local work shop completed his part of work. All looks good. But not for me. It was only body without engine and transmission. No breaks, no lights...

  9. Nice work transforming the big old truck into a cool hot rod truck. I admire your vision and also the hard work required to build something when you do have little raw materials to work with.

    Studebaker trucks were sent to Russia before and during WWII under the Lend Lease act. Pickups, and 2 1/2 ton Military spec. Like most everything sent there, they were either built under license from Studebaker or reverse engineered by Russian companies. The resemblance of Russian GAZ and Studebaker's is more than coincidence. Ford model A look alike, and Dodge Power Wagon clones, and an almost identical facsimile of a Volvo Command Vehicle.

    Yes, my best friend build Plimout 51 and Buick 54 right now, but he dont't like internet. His name Andrey RG, and he is the best castomazer in our city, and may be in Russia too. I try to be like he...

    Ok, continue my story. In winter 2013, my friend, Andrey RG, install motor SBC305 from Chevy Caprice 92 with transmission, fuel tank, breaks and air suspencion. My firt ride was very cool.

    Great looking truck well done on the build, i like a lot of your old Gaz/ Zil trucks and cars the Zil 157 has a great looking cab , your Gaz reminds me of my Bedford IMG_2191.JPG

    We were in St. Petersburg 2 months ago...didn't see anything but lots of Kias, Audis and VWs..great looking build, you have some skills.
