Is there a way to get 8.20-15 Radir cheater slicks to fit on a 55 chevy 210 with the leaf springs in the stock location? I have 15x8.5 original torq thrusts with 3 1/2" backspace, a narrowed ford 9" rear end and leafs in the stock location. I have about 3/8" between leaf and tire and 3/8" between fender and tire. My fender lips are not rolled or cut. I don't really want to 4 link or pocket my springs.
post some pics - have had tires within 1/2" of fender, etc - can roll inside of fender but, will not give enough clearance to run a rear wheel spacer to get tire away from spring - switching to a 7" wheel might help draw tire in Sent from my SM-G930V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Wheels are too wide. Back in the late 50's and early 60's when we ran 8.20 cheaters we ran on both 5's and 6's because it's what we had. 8-1/2's didn't exist and 7 anything was hard to find and reweld. Even today 7" on my 56 Ford the tire will hit the stock exhaust pipes so I went with 6's and a 75 series tire. Chevys do have a little more room. Doing what you want is why so many 55's had cut wheel well when we bought wider Mag wheels.
I have a 55 wagon that I'm hoping to run the same tire on. I bought the vintique steelies and they're 15 x 8 with 3 3/4 back space. Sent from my SM-G930V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
