One of the features of the new system that I find most appealing is the ability to "Like" a post that you particularly agree with or impresses you for some reason. However, once in a while I really wish there was an "Unlike" button.:D

The report button does that...but it's a bit extreme. It would be neat to have a milder version of it.

Being on early in the morning, I am getting quite familiar with the "Report" button. But as I understand it, two "Reports" automatically kill the thread. That's the furthest thing from my mind. It's just that, every once in a while, I see a post that just hits me the wrong way. It's not worth a tart reply, but I'd like to be able to do something.

We are nowhere near mature enough for an unlike button. One way ticket to Drama city!

  6. How about a "Meh" button?

Or you could "Like" the post and then go back later and "Unlike" it. That might be kind of satisfying. :p

I do that sometimes and it is kinda satisfying, but not quite enough.

How about you just use the "back" button? Go on to some other thread and don't waste your time with what doesn't interest you. No drama needed.

Seems to me that by not clicking the "like" button, a person is content with what is said, does not care to elaborate or does not want to or that it's not worth commenting on, thinks it's just a "meh" content, etc.
An "unlike" button is opening a can of worms.

It's like Dreddybear, say's, "We are nowhere near mature enough for an unlike button."

Don't take this the wrong way but not every post is made just for you... do you stop strangers on the street to tell them you don't like what they are talking about?
like the good ignore the bad... life is too short.

This is the HAMB. If we don't like it, we'll let you know.

  18. Okay... let us not get our panties in a knot. How a HAMB and swiss on rye with a cold beer button? Mustard and lettuce is on a "sub" (as in sandwich...) forum.

Just don't answer it, hope no one else does and it drifts off into oblivion with the hope that no one finds it in a google search and joins the HAMB to post their answer.
I still think that after a thread has been inactive for X period of time that the only one who should be to reopen it is the OP. That would keep the google searchers from coming on and doing the "Hey I know I know" thing to a six year dead thread.

It is a slippery slope. If you have an unlike button, then right away you have to have a "your car is too tall" button, then you need a "your wheels are stupid looking" button, then of course, a "why did you paint it that color?" button. You see how it all goes down hill from there....

I agree with HRP. However I do see others that just have to say something negative about any given thread.... just skip it. After all our build or drivers are for our satisfaction, not others... at least mine are.....
