A HOT and sunny day at Darlington Dragway yesterday. The gassers were adding to the heat. Here're a few shots from my trip down there. The rest of my coverage can be found at the link at the end of this post. Shirley (Cha Cha) Muldowney was the featured guest of honor. Nice lady who, in spite of the heat, signed tons of autographs with style and grace. Somebody else can post the results...my butt was dragging toward the end and I left early. (I'm an old guy) The rest of my take is here: https://tombo.smugmug.com/2017-SEGA-At-DARLINGTON-DRAGWAY/
Many thanks for the GREAT photos Tom - Gosh I'd love to see these events up near me. The problem with my local track (PBIR) is that it's IHRA certified and NOT NHRA certified. Gotta be the reason why we have very minimal drag racing events. I've yet to see an all GASSER event...
Great pics Tom! Kim said you left early. It was hot - I'll never wear boxers there again That last Vette you posted one A/G over White Trash and the C/G was won by Alley Cat. D/G was the Todd Oden 58 Chevy again.
Yes we need to know how quick n dirty made out. Saw some FB stuff where it was said you broke ??? And do you still fog for mosquitoes ?? Side business ?
Yeah we decided not to open that thread back up. I'll start a new one. My smoke issues went away after swapping heads and all - everything - over to my stock crank 392 from 2015. It ran 6.60s in 2015 and it still ran 6.60 at Darlington which is about 1 second slow for A/G. I kept turning up the RPMs until ..... No mosquito fog! Dry as can be on the plugs. It does puff like a race car but its not oiling plugs at all.
Darlington Class Winners... A/Gas - Frequent Flyer - Corvette - Alan Gauldin C/Gas - Alley Cat- Willys - Tim Bailey D/Gas - Double XX - 58 Chevy - Todd Oden
Man I was supposed to give you guys a koozie. We'll be at the beach with the Sedan Delivery. Spectating.
