Customs which car would you have saved?

I love it. There's a 57 4 door hardtop here in town, this makes me want it more. But I have too many already. that is going to be a beautiful car when done. Kill it.

The spears on the roof of the 57 got me thinking. I believe they were an option, not all roadmasters got them. I think they are pretty rare. Also, most 57's have the three piece back window - only the Roadmaster Riviera got the one piece back glass.

Hopefully someone who knows more about 57 Buicks can chime in but that car may be more rare than you realize.

 

That's a cool problem to have. Reading the thread, I couldn't make my mind up on what I'd I. Still can't.

 

So glad those trucks are on the east coast because I can't stop drooling over that white (Yellowstone?) truck! Oh yeah, the buicks are cool.

Nice find and new projects...That Buick Roadmaster with the four holes was my dad's favorite car of all of his Buicks from 1941 to 82. It was his first two door hard top and wanted a fairly sporty looking car for the family. He got tired of the two big boys having to use 4 doors, so this two door came in handy. The doors were huge. It road like a "Roadmaster."
As we were getting to be larger teens, we did not mind the room in the back seat during those long driving trips all over California. It was a great driving car.

1957 big Buick Roadmaster barely fitting into the narrow driveway opening in our post war house in Long Beach, CA.
My dad never hit the stucco house or the fence in the years he drove the big Buick.

 

1954 buick century four door!
quick wash down and i vacuumed the interior and truck. man this thing is sweet, complete and not radio delete. no surprises and i got the motor to move. i don't know why it came loose, it might just be glad to be out in the fresh air.

 

body is very solid, did not find any holes or dents. roof is pretty rusty and so is the trunk lid and there are a few spots where the paint gave up.

 

bright work.........isn't but it is all there and straight. i think it will "clean" up.

 

i love to see this, no really, the tank is not savable so there is no question about it needs a new one. nothing worse than a rusty tank that looks good on the out side. this was out of the car when i got it and is why they stopped driving it.

 

really hard not to like this one! 42 k miles and solid, ps, pb, auto, and a nailhead v8. tank is listed cheap, just need to find some new seat upholstery.

 

I was there today and I like this 54! I can just picture it full of teenage girls back in the day going to check town or the drive-in. May not have all the glitz of the other two but it just takes me back in time.

The 54 sets good, looks like an honest old car. Reminds me of my green 55 Buick.

 

yeah, i really like the '54 but then i started to clean the '58..........photos tomorrow.......

Easy... save the fittyfo

Be CAREFUL cranking that 264, those little valves love to stick. Even after the initial crank, if it sits for awhile they will stick again and you'll bend a push rod.

Great to find 3 Buicks in a barn, congrats!

 

thanks for the tip. i just moved the fan enough to see the crank move. i plan to oil the cylinders up and let them sit.

I agree the 57 is the keeper of the bunch, the 54 would be a daily and the 58 I would give to Denny for a smoking deal.

Nice find! Definitely keepers, all of them. Of course, I'm partial to the 57, for obvious reasons. For some better details on the Buicks, join the go to www.aaca.org and get on the Buick Forum. Go to the Post-War threads. You will get a ton of information on how to find, fix and restore the Buicks you have. Lots of guys and gals have a lot of knowledge there. I own 3 '57's so feel free to ask me questions as well.

there is always some sour puss in any group. he could have some health problems that makes him grumpy, he could be stressed at work, he could have just had a bad day or maybe he is just an asshole.
