After 3 years my 53' is nearly road ready. I've done everything myself but decided to have a tranny shop do the Ring and Pinion swap. I bought the setup from Classic Industries and dropped it off.. I got a call today saying I was missing the pictured piece (his picture from internet). It appears to be a bearing with a tapered outer edge. Does anyone have a name or part number for it??? I can't find it...could he have a incorrect picture???Thanks in advance

That appears to be the pinion bearing race unless it's a crush sleeve. I don't see a separate number pointing to it though.

Thanks Mark, Hmm...Should a stock 53' set-up have a tapered race or maybe he accidentally pulled a wrong picture? Unfortunately I don't have the experience to know..

That looks like a stop for the rear pinion bearing and the bolt with the jam nut on the outside is what adjust it for the pinion depth.
My guess is that part would not be a replaced but reused.

In my old Chilton flat rate and parts manual It list the part number as 3685189 the manual only goes back to 1942 but shows the same one from 1942 to 54.
