The morning came early. By 5:30 cars were lining up for tech. Heres some some what hamb friendly cars. Its not all big dollar high rollers.
Lookin good Brian. I remember last year the vette crashed on the big end, glad to see the car is back. Should be a impressive Unlimited Class.
More hamb cars. Hemi joel went with plan B. He brought out his old fast class car. Tricky steve and cheryl with their model A.
Nice Brian, thanks for posting. Glad to see Tricky Steve in the mix. Go DO WHAT YOU DO GUYS!! OOOOOHHHH YEEEAAA!
Drag week can get rough. We just ran across this thrash going on. It doesnt look good. The guys from sweden with the big plymouth bent some valves saturday. They got the heads off then took them to a shop for repairs. I saw them driving it tonight.
I was really impressed with Brian's car today...it sat there all day looking pretty, and Brian didn't work on it at all! I think he's ready to show folks what this car can do. I did some looking under mine, checked a few bolts to see if they were tight, the converter bolts were starting to loosen up. so I put some fresh lock tite and will check torque every day. ready to go racing in the morning.
See you guys Friday. Watching now from work, don't see this being a very productive week between 8 and 2! Bent
Thanks for the pics Brian. The Plymouth VIP whale guys are my fellow finns, not from Sweden. https://m.facebook.com/VIPFlyingFinns/?locale2=fi_FI Opel ascona is swede, also running high sevens. VIP ran 8.0 on their pass today after head rebuild. I saw your coupe having some issue with traction?
Love this event. I'd like to do it some year just to be a part of the event, not necessarily to go fast.
Well that pass sucked. We forgot to turn on the air bottle. It ran great in first gear then no second or third. I looked at the gauge and it showed prezsure. Now we have a check list. We have made 90 miles. Time for lunch.
...great show at Cordova today, awesome weather too,..fastest pass I saw was this 56 Chev at 217mph at 7 somethin seconds,...awesome, lots of fast stuff there today,...here's a few pics...
Thats good news, play safe boys and keep the updates rollin http://www.hotrod.com/articles/vip-flying-finns/
The drive today was 287 miles track to track. The only drama was about a hour into the trip the car just shut off. It cranked but wouldnt fire the injectors. I checked the two fuses they were good. I disconnected the harness to the injectors and plugged it back in she fired right up and down the road we went. We just got done servicing the car at tricky steves. Everything looka perfect. Going to bed tired but feeling good.
Damn I wish I could be a part of this. You guys are living the life, my best years were out on the road going from track to track. I loved Cordova, won A/fuel there in 2007. Brian you and Jim and everyone are living the dream. You will get her done.
Are the strip runs 1/8, 1/4 or 1000 feet? Was so much easier to compare times when 1/4 mile was the only distance at any drag race.
They just announced on the live feed that Brian needs magneto parts delivered to Byron for tomorrow. Not sure what he needs but heads up area HAMBers up that direction.
