I would love to find one of these bodies that needs a ton of work (Because that might be all I could ever afford) and build something along these lines except with a straight axle and a different scoop.

Same car, stock on the left, modified (baby moons!) on the right. If you were going to hot rod a
Corvette the first thing you'd naturally do is change the hubcaps.

Jim I went to a car show today on a lead from Baron, searching for my old Corvette and I saw it after 31 years. It's in good hands and still a hot rod. It's in Ashby MA. Chuck bought the car from a dealer in NH the same year I sold it to an individual, it's actually his wife's Diane's car and he said she loves it. So here's some pictures of it. Picture 003 is as it looked just before I sold it, I had corvette rallye wheels when sold. The 56 not a hot rod but at the show.

Gary just posted, on the vintage picture thread, pics of a dealership, looks like maybe 1957. There is a '56 or '57 Corvette sitting in front that is painted red with a black insert. has anyone ever seen this before, I haven't.

Pat the car looks really good. It is a good thing that it is being appreciated by it's present owner. Looks like a driver which of course I believe is a good thing.

Doug red with black coves was rare but I have seen it. Remember one back in the 60s. Also Dick Moroso ran his 61 with black coves. Here is a pic. Moroso1.jpg

Looks great. As a painter I have to admit it used to make think that if you lived closer I would have snuck over and touched it up myself.

Thanks Jim. As many of these cars as I've looked at I don't remember that combination.

Enloe, there's more pictures on Barnfinds. Front end looks kind of like a Ford Torino.

As a pet project of GM Styling VP Bill Mitchell, the Corvette Stingray sports racer was attended by a matching silver 1960 Chevy Parkwood wagon. In the previous year when the Stingray was painted red, the tow vehicle was painted red also.

I'm puzzled, I just saw a thread here in this blog or whatever you call it with 4 or 5 custom nosed corvettes were at a show. I went to pour a cup of coffee and then clicked on hamb to refresh the page and there gone. I thought Enloe put them up. I have an interesting tidbit on those cars.

No LB it wasn't that thread. I was in the Corvette Hot Rods thread. It had what I believed to be Motion Corvettes with the hoods open, they were their "phase 1,2,3" cars with the custom exposed single headlight nose and the scoop that is on my old 62 corvette. They were 68-70 years.
I just don't get this new fangled stuff, the cloud, tweets, twerking, apps. Strange stuff in cyberspace. Hey enloe, you messin with me?

I posted that photo of the Motion Corvettes. I assume that even though Motion Corvettes are real
hot rods, and this is purely a Corvette thread, someone couldn't handle seeing three later model
'vettes and felt the pic had to go. That's too bad, Motion / Baldwin cars are a rare breed.

Edited: I just noticed that two other photos of a Motion 'vette at Rt 66 Raceway
have also been yanked. Again, too bad, it's nice having a record of these cars.
At least I still have the original shots.

Thanks quick85 I almost thought I was losing it. Anyway the scoops on those cars and in fact the glass work was done by Corvette enterprises in I believe Babylon LI.NY. And a friend of mine had a hood made by them for his 62 corvette, it's the same as those, a 68L-88 bubble/scoop with a 67 427 scoop on top of that. I liked it so I had them make just the scoop for my 62 and then glassed it on to my hood, I removed the rockets or gun sights and cleaned out the inside of the hood so it looked factory. I have only seen 2 in existence. So that's my little tidbit.
